Season 01, Episode 01 - “Key Witness”
An elite team of detectives re-investigates a controversial 2008 double murder case. With no prior knowledge of the crime, they’ll begin with a meticulously reconstructed crime scene, analyse the physical evidence, interview witnesses, and watch taped interviews with key players. The big question is will they come to the same conclusion as the original investigators? In each episode, the series’ investigators go through a re-investigation based on a real crime, interviewing the real people who were involved in the original cases, even those who were, and were not, convicted of the crimes. The team of investigators includes a 13-year Chicago homicide Detective, Michelle Wood, a 30-year veteran of the Miami Police Department and fan-favourite from the “First 48″, Detective Joe Schillaci, and Kevin “Spider” Gannon, a retired NYPD homicide detective and supervisor. With no prior knowledge of the crime or verdict, they begin each investigation at a reconstructed crime scene and work the case, interviewing witnesses, forensic specialists and other key players. The question is, will they come to the same conclusion as in the original case, or will they uncover new evidence that the killer could still be out there? The shocking cases featured include a vicious double-homicide of a father and son attacked in their home, the horrific murder of a young mother living a double-life whose throat was slashed while her children slept nearby, the brutal slaying of a young art student whose case takes an unforeseen turn that reveals a sinister plot for revenge and more.

Plot: Mike Church is a Los Angeles private detective who specialises in finding missing persons. He takes on the case of a mystery woman who he calls Grace.
