Season 1, Episode 09 –
Late at night at the WS Theater. Director Mitsunari Kube (Masaki Suda) is alone with his crush, Rika Koda (Fumi Nikaido). Seeing Kube’s brave side when he chases away Rika’s ex-lover, Toro (Toma Ikuta), to protect her, Rika slowly begins to feel drawn to him. As the atmosphere becomes more intimate, Kube reveals his intention to stage “Hamlet” once the theater is up and running. Kube wants to play Hamlet himself and Rika to play his lover, Ophelia. “I’ll leave it to you, director,” Rika agrees. “Please continue to lead us,” she whispers to Kube. The two hold hands and head to a bar. Meanwhile, in the living room of Hachibun Shrine, shrine maiden Juri Egashira (Minami Hamabe) is lost in thought. She can’t help but wonder about Kube and Rika’s relationship. Her father, Ronpei (Bando Yajuro), who understands his daughter’s feelings, departs dejectedly, muttering, “I don’t think there’s a romantic relationship between those two.” However, Juri cannot shake off her uneasiness…

Season 1, Episode 07 –
Hisashi Kube (Masaki Suda) has been rehearsing with the renowned actor Reizaburo Koreo (Kazuyuki Asano). A week has passed since the opening night of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” but attendance figures haven’t been as impressive as expected. Sales are less than half of their target, but Kube is excited to announce that next week they’ll be performing Shakespeare’s late masterpiece, “The Winter’s Tale.” Manager Daimon Asano’s (Yoshihiro Nozoe) wife, Fre (Satomi Nagano), tells him that “running away is winning” and invites him to take the proceeds and return to the countryside. However, Kube’s passionate argument, “Reizaburo Koreo’s return is big news for the theater world,” swayed Daimon, who resolves to “take another chance on you.” The next morning, the owner, Jesse Saiga (Sylvia Grab), arrives. Daimon hands him an envelope containing the quota, saying, “This week’s sales,” but in fact, there’s a trick up his sleeve…

Season 1, Episode 06 –
The opening night of Kube’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the WS Theater has just finished. Kube Mitsunari (Suda Masaki) is greeted in the audience by Japan’s leading Shakespearean actor, Koreo Reizaburo (Asano Kazuyuki). Koreo is a veteran actor who has appeared in numerous plays directed by Ninagawa Yukio, whom Kube greatly admires. Kube is deeply moved to meet Koreo. “I was walking around Shibuya for the first time in a while and happened to pass by this place,” Koreo prefaces his speech, showing some appreciation for Kube’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Excited by his words, Kube takes Koreo to the after-party venue. Then, he spots Juri (Hamabe Minami), a shrine maiden with a note in hand. Horai Shogo (Kamiki Ryunosuke), who has a crush on Juri, invites her to the party. However, Juri only has eyes for Kube. And at the launch venue, Koda Rika (Nikaido Fumi) is waiting, looking at Hisabe in a new light…

Season 1, Episode 03 –
In Globe Manor, an old apartment building across from the WS Theater, Kube Mitsunari (Suda Masaki) is frantically writing a script. He’s rewriting Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” for a performance at the WS Theater. Watching him is Horai Shogo (Kamiki Ryunosuke). Horai is asked for a midnight snack, and heads to the apartment of Koda Rika (Nikaido Fumi), who also lives in Globe Manor. While complaining about the plain ramen she made, Kube’s hand never stops. When Rika tries to read the manuscript Kube has finished writing, Kube becomes abnormally defensive. The two of them vent their frustrations on Kube, saying things like, “If it’s too long, the audience will get bored,” and “It would be better if there are as few lines as possible.” Then, Kube loses his temper and rips the manuscript he was writing to shreds.

The shopping street, lit by the neon lights of strip clubs, is called “Hachibunzaka.” It’s called Hachibunzaka because it’s eight minutes from Shibuya Station, and the following sign is engraved on the arcade: “Pray speak what has happened.” Invited by the old lady (Kikuchi Rinko) at the free information desk, Kube opens the door to the WS Theater…
